 Speaker Biographies:

Rick Celebrini

Rick Celebrini is a sports and orthopaedic physiotherapist that recently completed his PhD from the University of British Columbia. He is currently a consultant with various national and professional teams and is the head of sports medicine and science for the Vancouver Whitecaps Soccer Club. He has been to three Olympic games as a physiotherapist and the Pan-Am games as an athlete. Rick was Manager of Medical Services and the Chief Therapist for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. His research focus is in the field of sports injury prevention in general and specifically ACL prevention.

 

Jacon Chun

Jacon Chun, MPT, SCS, ATC, CSCS has over 15 years of experience in the medical field as a physical therapist and athletic trainer, and is one of only a handful of therapists in the San Francisco Bay Area that holds board certification as a Sports Clinical Specialist. He was on staff in the Stanford Sports Medicine Department from 2003-2006, treating the Cardinal student-athletes that participate in over 34 varsity sports. It was there that he was introduced to the Anti-Gravity Treadmill. Jacon currently serves as Clinical Specialist for AlterG, educating people about all the fantastic applications possible with their unweighting/progressive loading modality. He is a practicing physical therapist and owns a small private practice in Fremont, CA.
 

Paul Magee

Paul Magee qualified as a Sports Therapist in 1997 and gained valuable clinical experience with the NHS working in a Physiotherapy Department promoting the physical activity and well being of adults with learning disabilities, organising and implementing hydrotherapy, rebound therapy and exercise sessions for the hospital residents. He then set up his own Sports Therapy clinic dealing with sports and work related injuries using manual and exercise therapy, biomechanical analysis and InterX technology to offer a fast and effective solution for musculoskeletal problems. Paul’s experience with InterX prompted him to leave his clinic and devote all his time to studying and teaching the benefits of this technology as a clinical specialist for NRG. Paul now manages all the clinical research and training aspects of InterX while also contributing his electrotherapy expertise to the development of the new InterX products.
 

Doug Stacey

Doug Stacey was the therapist for the Gold medal Canadian Women’s Hockey team at the 2010 Olympics.  He also won Gold with the Canadian Women’s Hockey Team at the 2006 and 2002 Olympic Winter Games, and the 2001 IIHF World Women’s Championship.  Doug was a member of Canada’s National Men’s Junior Team that captured gold at the IIHF World Junior Championship in Grand Forks, ND in 2005 and most recently in Ottawa 2009.  Other Hockey Canada events include the U18 Men’s team that captured Gold at the IIHF World Championships in Yaroslavl Russia in 2003 and Kazan, Russia in 2008.  In total has covered 10 World Championships (5 Gold, 3 Silver, 2  4th place) and 3 Olympics (3 Gold) for Hockey Canada.  Doug presently works for the Fowler Kennedy Sports medicine clinic in London, Ontario, Hockey Canada (medical liaison) and as a consultant physiotherapist for the OHL’s London Knights.
