Whether you are a seasoned sports medicine professional or new to the field, you will find the KineXions Sports Therapy Symposium and Tradeshow enlightening and inspiring. The program includes informative plenary sessions and hands on workshops focused on current topics relevant to the practice of sports therapy in Canada.

Speakers and topics for the symposium include:

Rick Celebrini’s presentation on Proximal to Distal Movement – a movement strategy for the prevention and treatment of lumbo-pelvic-hop and lower extremity injuries. Dr. Brian Benson will speak on the latest research and trends in concussion management. Dr. Benson is a researcher at the Sport Medicine Centre in the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Kinesiology and a physician with the Canadian National Junior Team.

General Information

Location: The symposium will take place at the Dining Centre at the University of Calgary Conference Centre located at 165 University Gate, NW Calgary. The University of Calgary is in the North West section of the city with the main entrance off of 24th Avenue NW at University Drive NW. A full campus map can be found here: www.ucalgary.ca/map

Parking: Parking for the conference is available at the Arts Parkade adjacent to the Dining Centre and the Hotel Alma, at the daily rate of $8.00. Detailed driving directions to the Arts Parkade can be found here: www.hotelalma.ca/maps

Conference Hotel Rates (excluding taxes): Accommodation is available at the Hotel Alma located next to the University of Calgary Conference Centre at 169 University Gate NW. A Standard Room is $115.00, a One-Bedroom Suite is $150.00 including breakfast. Hotel Rooms are subject to GST and local taxes and fees in effect at the time of check-out. These rates are applicable from Thursday, May 3rd to Saturday May 5th.
